Radiation laboratory
CSIC
In the radiation laboratory, radiation detectors based on semiconductor materials such as cadmium zinc telluride (Cd(Zn)Te) or silicon (Si) can be characterised.
The facility allows experiments in high-energy physics as well as other research areas that can take advantage of the available instrumentation. Spectroscopic measurements can be performed at room temperature and at low temperature in the X-ray and gamma-ray range (from tens of keV to 1-2 MeV).
The radiation laboratory was authorised by the Nuclear Safety Council (CSN, ‘Consell de Seguretat Nuclear’) under the number IRA-3137.
