Organized by the Institute of Cosmos Sciences (IEEC-UB), the second THOR workshop will take place in Barcelona (Spain) from September 27th to 29th, 2016 at the Physics Building, University of Barcelona.
The main goals of the workshop are:
- To give an input to the ongoing phase
- A study of THOR in all aspects
- To give an overview of the payload capabilities to the science community
- To give a possibility for direct interaction among scientists and payload engineers
- To address the current state of the art in our understanding of plasma heating and particle acceleration in turbulent plasmas Theory Numerical simulations Spacecraft/laboratory/astrophysical observations Particular focus on pristine solar wind, foreshock, shocks, magnetosheath
The THOR workshop will last three days. The first day will be devoted to the payload, and the next two days to science discussions. There will be ample room for posters and numerous rooms for collaborative work and discussions
