From 5september 5th to 11th the University of Zurich and the Federal Institute of Technology of Zurich organize the XI LISA Symposium. LISA is a joint project of NASA and ESA to detect and measure gravitational waves in space.
One of the main topics to be discussed during these days are the first results of the LISA Pathfinder mission that has tested successful the necessary technology to build an observatory of gravitational waves in space. Researchers of the Institute of Space Sciences (IEEC-CSIC) participate in this mission of ESA and they will explain their research during the symposium.
Zurich will also host a meeting between consortia eLISA (Europe) and L3ST (USA) to coordinate collaboration in astronomy of gravitational waves in space.
