Just two decades after the first discoveries of planets outside our Solar System, we now count exoplanets by hundreds and have been able to investigate some of their atmospheric properties.
Thus far we are just witnessing the tip of the iceberg of the planet distribution but Nature is already surprising us with an unsuspected variety of planet classes and structures.
