SPLASHDOWN Festival 2019 comes to Barcelona
IEEC is proud to announce it collaborates in the organisation of the IV edition of the SPLASHDOWN Festival, taking place on 5, 6 and 7 July 2019. For the first time ever, the festival of the cosmos and space exploration arrives to Barcelona, at the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona (CCCB).

The SPLASHDOWN Festival is dedicated exclusively to space exploration: a field that will mark the future of human beings on the planet and beyond. The three days of the festival will be full of conferences, workshops, music, cinema, live radio, interactive shows and activities for children. Participants will have the opportunity to dive into subjects such as: the Moon missions, searching for exoplanets, asteroids, pulsar stars, measuring distances in astronomy and Mars exploration among many others.

Registration for the event is already open and can be done at the following link. The first 60 participants to register will enter a raffle to win eight tickets to visit the suborbital rocket Miura 1 from PLD Space in situ, before its launch scheduled by the end of this year.

SPLASHDOWN Festival is organised by a team part of the LANIAKEA Association, formed by professionals in astronomy dissemination, engineering, scientific research, project coordination, editing and graphic design, and scientific tourism. The event has a scientific council made of research and engineers in the areas of astronomy, astrobiology, aeronautics and more. IEEC is supporting the festival with promotion and ideas for content, while several IEEC members will be delivering some of programme activities: Enrique Herrero, Xavi Luri, Nanda Rea and Josep Maria Trigo.

More information about the festival can be accessed on the event website.
