Resolution of the call for proposals for the partial funding of student internships in NewSpace projects

The Institute of Space Studies of Catalonia (IEEC — Institut d’Estudis Espacials de Catalunya) and the Government of Catalonia have resolved the concession of 8 grants to companies (SMEs), start-ups and research centres in Catalonia within the call for the funding of students in internships in the NewSpace projects, opened on July 27.

The purpose of this funding is to promote the space ecosystem of the territory and that small companies, start-ups and research centres can finance internships for university students in this field.

The 8 selected entities, that will receive a maximum of 2,000 euros each, are the following:

• ROKUBUN, S.L.
• SPASCAT TECHNOLOGIES, S.L.
• XIROI AEROSPACE, S.L.
• EMC ELECTROMAGNETIC BCN, S.L.
• ISARDSAT, S.L.
• UNIVERSITAT POLITÈCNICA DE CATALUNYA (GRUP DE RECERCA COMMSENSLAB)
• MICROWAVE SENSORS AND ELECTRONICS, S.L. (MWSE)

This call is framed within the actions of the Talent and Society programme of the NewSpace Strategy of Catalonia, which promotes activities aimed at attracting, generating and retaining talent with skills to develop solutions in the NewSpace field. The NewSpace Strategy of Catalonia is promoted by the Generalitat of Catalonia with the collaboration of the IEEC, the i2CAT Foundation and the Cartographic and Geological Institute of Catalonia (ICGC).
