Next 14-16 November, the Generalitat de Catalunya, with the support of the Institute of Space Studies of Catalonia (IEEC — Institut d’Estudis Espacials de Catalunya), will present the ‘NewSpace Catalonia’ stand at Space Tech Expo Europe 2023. The Space Tech Expo Europe, held annually in Bremen (Germany), is Europe’s largest and most important exhibition for space technology and services.

Last 1 June, the IEEC announced the open call for innovative companies or research and innovation centres in the field of space that would like to exhibit at the NewSpace Catalonia stand.

The companies and entities that have been selected are:

This year’s event is the sixth edition of a fair which, each year, showcases the latest space technologies and provides opportunities for contact, interaction and discussion related to current issues in the space sector. The B2B event attracts thousands of industry leaders, including manufacturers, service providers, research organisations and government agencies.

For space companies, this exhibition is a unique opportunity to connect with other industry professionals, discover the latest innovations and trends, and establish new collaborations. It also allows companies to showcase their own products and services to a wide and specialised audience.

The ‘NewSpace Catalonia’ stand is an initiative framed within the NewSpace Strategy of Catalonia, promoted by the Department of Business and Work of the Generalitat de Catalunya, in collaboration with the IEEC, the i2CAT Foundation and the Cartographic and Geological Institute of Catalonia (ICGC). This collaboration seeks to project the industrial, innovation and talent generation capabilities of the Catalan ecosystem to the world.

The initiative will show the potential for interaction of the space and digital sectors, both strategic for the emergence of the new space economy, and the different institutions present, the strengths of the NewSpace strategy of Catalonia and the sectors involved in this ecosystem.

The selected centres will have an exclusive space in the Generalitat’s stand to promote their activities. Moreover, the selected companies and organisations will enjoy the different dissemination and internationalisation activities that will be carried out, as well as the accompaniment and support by the members promoting the strategy during the congress.
