Josep Colomé, director of the Area for the Promotion of the Space Sector of Catalonia at the IEEC, appointed member of the Management Board of NEREUS
The director of the Area for the Promotion of the Space Sector of Catalonia (APEC) of the Institute of Space Studies of Catalonia (IEEC — Institut d'Estudis Espacials de Catalunya), Josep Colomé, has been appointed member of the Management Board of NEREUS (Network of European Regions Using Space Technologies), the network of European regions to explore the benefits of space technologies for citizens, as well as to promote the use of space and its applications.

The board was renewed during the General Assembly held in Brussels on 20 April 2023. Approximately, 45 participants attended the event. The IEEC joined the network last year, and acts as the representative of the interests of the Catalan ecosystem by delegation of the Government of Catalonia.

In this renewal, Josep Colomé has been appointed as a board member representing Catalonia. His participation will help to strengthen the activities for the promotion of international cooperation that are developed in the framework of the NewSpace Strategy of Catalonia promoted and coordinated by the Government through the Secretariat of Digital Policies of the Department of Business and Labour and with the participation of the IEEC, the i2CAT Foundation and the Institut Cartogràfic i Geològic de Catalunya (ICGC). The aim of these activities is to promote international awareness of the Catalan NewSpace ecosystem and generate opportunities to facilitate its growth.
