Gravitational waves are unavoidably generated at second order in cosmological perturbation theory. In some cases, such induced gravitational waves might be observable by future space-based gravitational waves detectors.
However, only the generation during radiation and matter domination eras has been analytically studied. I will present new analytical formulas for general cosmological background and I will discuss its detectability and its applications to the primordial black hole scenario.
