IEEC, strategic partner and participant at the New Space Economy meeting

The Chamber of Commerce of Barcelona (Cambra de Comerç de Barcelona), in collaboration with the Knowledge Innovation Market Bcn Foundation (KIMbcn) and the Institute of Space Studies of Catalonia (IEEC — Institut d’Estudis Espacials de Catalunya) as strategic partner, is organising a meeting with the companies of the New Space, i.e. the organisations and institutions that promote and finance this type of projects, and the leading researchers.

The aim of the event, that will take place on 12 February 2020 at Cambra de Comerç de Barcelona, is to know first hand the current trends and new ways of doing business within the space area.

The conference New Space Economy: business opportunities for companies will discuss the policies to promote the new space economy and address issues such as technologies and possibilities of the new era, entrepreneurship opportunities in the space sector, programs and funding grants, as well as the possibility of colonizing exoplanets thanks to the construction of lunar bases with 3D technology.

Participants will include representatives from the Generalitat de Catalunya, Cambra de Comerç de Barcelona, Centro para el Desarrollo Tecnológico Industrial (CDTI) and the European Space Agency (ESA); companies such as SpaceSur, GTD and Rokubun; and universities and research centres such as Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), Centro Tecnológico LEITAT and the Institut d’Estudis Espacials de Catalunya (IEEC).
