Event on attracting and retaining talent in the Catalan NewSpace sector
The day will begin with the presentation of the DCA-NewSpace Talent Working Group, created at the end of 2022 in order to define a shared roadmap and join efforts in the field of talent within the entrepreneurial ecosystem of the territory. This will be followed by a presentation on the European Space Agency (ESA) and the promotion of talent, followed by the presentation of the European call ESA BIC Barcelona, the incubator for the Catalan NewSpace ecosystem, which aims to boost start-ups.
The day will also feature a round table with NewSpace professionals to understand first-hand the challenges and opportunities of the ecosystem to attract and retain talent. Finally, research centres and universities will be invited to discuss how to improve the connection and synergies between academia and industry. The day will end with a networking breakfast.
The event is organised by the Digital Catalonia Alliance (DCA) and is supported by the Institute of Space Studies of Catalonia (IEEC), the ESA Business Incubation Centre of Barcelona and the Barcelona representation of the organisation Women in Aerospace Europe (WiA Europe – BCN). The initiative is also supported by the La Caixa Foundation.
The event is primarily addressed to members of the DCA's NewSpace community, but it is an open event to all people interested in the topic.
