The European Union Agency for the Space Programme (EUSPA) and Eurisy (a European network dedicated to promoting the use of space technologies and satellite data in society) are organising the workshop ‘Satellite-based Services for Disaster Risk Management’.

The session will take place at the World Trade Center in Barcelona (Moll de Barcelona s/n, Est building, 1st floor) on 26 February, from 10:00 am to 4:30 pm.

The event is part of a series of practical sessions aimed at discussing with national users the challenges they face in integrating satellite-based services, as well as the benefits observed. In this case, the workshop focuses on how space technologies and related services can help manage risks during natural disasters and other emergency situations. It is a unique opportunity for stakeholders to meet, discuss, and exchange best practices and sector specific needs.

The event is organised in close collaboration with the Institute of Space Studies of Catalonia (IEEC — Institut d’Estudis Espacials de Catalunya), the Secretariat of Digital Policies of the Government of Catalonia, in the framework of the NewSpace Strategy of Catalonia, and the Spanish Space Agency (AEE). It also has the support of the Spanish Ministry of Defence and the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities.
