This 10 February, participate in the Women and Girls in Science day organised by the Barcelona delegation of Women in Aerospace Europe (WIA-E) with the support of the Institute of Space Studies of Catalonia (IEEC — Institut d’Estudis Espacials de Catalunya). The event will take place at the Joan Triadú Civic Center (Arquebisbe Alemany 5, 08500, Vic), and will include talks, workshops for children and adults, science, technology and more!
Among others, Marina MartÃnez, PhD in Planetary and Earth Sciences from the University of New Mexico will give a talk about the origin of the solar system, and Anna Ruiz Ayala, founder of AulaSPUTNIK will explain what rockets are, how they work and why they are so important to explore space and understand what surrounds us.
Moreover, experts from the IEEC will also take part, such as Daniel Sors Raurell (Head of Services & Industrial Promotion Office) with ‘Travel to space, entry into orbit and beyond’. In this workshop, we will talk about how a launch works and what we would see if we were orbiting the Earth.
