Call for companies to participate in the ‘NewSpace Catalonia’ booth at the IAC22

The International Astronautical Congress (IAC22) will be held in Paris from 18 to 22 September 2022. This new edition of the IAC, one of the most important space congresses in the world, will take place at the Paris Convention Center.

Every year, all the industry players come together to present the latest news and innovations in space and to establish contacts and potential partnerships. Within the slogan ‘Space for @ll’, IAC22 aims to bring together all space communities with the ecosystem of companies and startups, entrepreneurs, laboratories, scientific researchers and manufacturers that could participate in or benefit from activities.

In this year's edition, the Catalan Government, with the support of the Institute of Space Studies of Catalonia (IEEC — Institut d’Estudis Espacials de Catalunya), will present the booth ‘NewSpace Catalonia’, a space of 108 m2 to publicise business activities, establish contacts and promote international collaborations. The stand aims to show the potential for interaction between the space and digital sectors, both strategic for the emergence of the new space economy.

With the collaboration of IEEC and the Digital Catalonia Alliance (DCA), the Catalan Government opens today a call for selection of Catalan companies or research and innovation centres in the space sector that wish to participate in the booth ‘NewSpace Catalonia’.

The ‘NewSpace Catalonia’ booth is an initiative framed within the NewSpace Strategy for Catalonia, promoted by the Ministry of the Vice-presidency, Digital Policies and Territory, in collaboration with IEEC, the i2CAT Foundation, the Institut Cartogràfic i Geològic de Catalunya (ICGC) and the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce. This collaboration seeks to project the industrial, innovation and talent generation capabilities of the Catalan ecosystem to the world.

The companies and entities that stay at the booth will benefit from the different dissemination and internationalisation activities that are carried out, as well as accompaniment and support from the members promoting the strategy. In addition, they will have 2 tickets for the congress (‘Exhibition booth staff badges’), inclusion in the official online catalogue of lAC2022 companies, and will be able to participate in the different events organised by the Catalan Government within the framework of the congress.

The cost for each company or entity wishing to have a space on the booth is €500. The company/entity will also have to assume all costs associated with travel, transport, and installation of content in their space.

The deadline for applications is 16 June 2022.
