Call for applications to attend the Executive Space Course 2023 in Strasbourg
Within the framework of this programme, three grants are offered to participate in the intensive Executive Space Course (ESC). The ESC is a 5-day course organised by the International Space University (ISU), in which participants are offered an interdisciplinary, international and intercultural learning environment in the space field and lectures on space economics, among others.
The short programme is delivered through lectures, workshops, and case studies in which participants benefit from the expertise of ISU resident professors and faculty and guests from world-renowned organisations. This year's edition will be held from 20 to 24 March 2023 in Strasbourg (France).
The grant amount will be 5,000 euros each. This grant is intended to finance the costs associated with participation in the ESC, and is aimed at professionals or staff of the entities that make up the NewSpace Strategy of Catalonia: Generalitat de Catalunya, ACCIÓ (Agència per la Competitivitat de l'Empresa), Fundació i2CAT and the Institut Cartogràfic i Geològic de Catalunya.
This call for scholarships aims to contribute to the training of the beneficiaries who will attend the ESC course this year in the main disciplines of the new NewSpace economy. Likewise, the completion of the ESC by the professional workers of the entities that are part of the NewSpace Strategy should allow them to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to contribute to the organisation of the ESC’s next edition (2024). ESC 2024 is scheduled to be held in Barcelona with the Institute of Space Studies of Catalonia (IEEC – Institut d'Estudis Espacials de Catalunya) and the Generalitat de Catalunya acting as co-organizers of the course, together with the ISU.
The IEEC is part of the entities in charge of promoting and executing the different activities identified in the NewSpace Strategy of Catalonia, among which is precisely the development of the Talent and Society programme.
The deadline for submitting applications is 13 March 2023. The documentation must be sent to the email address ieec@ieec.cat.
