IEEC boards the ALIA Mission, an educational project of the CCCB
The scope of the project is to immerse the students of the selected schools in some of the IEEC's most outstanding research programmes and, accompanied by the scientists who lead them and a science fiction writer, write their own "Martian Chronicles'', which will form part of the CCCB's programme.
In line with scientific discoveries about the universe and the exploration of the planet Mars, the project will address the contradictions, crossovers and paradoxes posed by our way of inhabiting the Earth. ALIA Mission is a transversal project, connecting knowledge and activating skills.
In this context, the CCCB has opened a call for seeking six high schools willing to participate in the project, which will be developed in parallel to the CCCB exhibition.
The application procedure will remain open until 19 February 2021 at 1pm. The selected institutes will receive support material to work on the challenge assigned to them, will visit the CCCB exhibition and will learn about an IEEC research project from its researchers. Moreover, the students will be accompanied by a science fiction writer and the resulting stories will be part of a podcast that will revisit Ray Bradbury's classic "Martian Chronicles" and will be presented this summer at the CCCB.
