Celebrate with us the Day of Women and Girls in Space

This February 11, participate in the second Day of Girls and Women in Space organised by Women in Aerospace Europe (WIA-E) in collaboration with the Institute of Space Studies of Catalonia (Institut d'Estudis Espacials de Catalunya – IEEC), at Balàfia Civic Center (Carrer de Terrassa, 1, 25005, Lleida).

During the workshop held as part of Women and Girls in Science Day, there will be talks, astronomical observations, workshops for young and old, science, technology and more! If you've always been fascinated by looking up, this is your day.

The event will have the participation of expert members of the EEC such as Kike Herrero (Technical Director of the Montsec Observatory, IEEC) with the workshop: ‘The Earth and the Sun’ where young and old can enjoy some educational activities that will allow us to understand basic concepts of astronomy, such as the movements of the Earth, or how our star, the Sun, works.

Also, Anna Ruiz Ayala (Manager of the Talent and Society Program, Catalan Space Office, IEEC) with the workshop: ‘The girl who wanted to go to the Moon’, for girls and boys from 8 to 12 years; and Daniel Sors Raurell (Office of Services and Industrial Promotion, Catalan Space Office, IEEC) with ‘Travel to space, entry into orbit and beyond’ where he will talk about how a launch works and what we would see if we were orbiting the Earth.
